Rooted

When I think of roots of a tree, I visualize roots so deep and stable because they have to be the complete foundation of a growing tree for hundreds of years. But the tree didn’t start with the deep roots. It took years and years, facing adversity of weather and storms, to make it strong. The roots are there to provide a strong, unwavering strength for it to grow and flourish.

This is so much like our lives. We will go through some struggles, adversity, hard times, trauma, grief and even good times can shape us into who we are. But if we don’t have the foundation of Jesus as our “root system” we will not be able to withstand the storms. It might take days or years for us to be strong enough but we have to keep walking. One step in front of the other….leaning and pressing into Jesus. He will bring the fresh wind of His love for us to keep standing.

Don’t forget to look at the little acorns dropping from the tree. Let that be the fruit of our lives. Let others see Jesus in us by planting seeds of love and kindness even through the smallest things. Let them drop off us like the acorns. Let others see the deep roots of Jesus in our hearts that we withstand any storm thrown at us. The fruit will be so beautiful.

Stay rooted in the love of Jesus….no better place to be.
